PHASE 2:
The roadway remains open with temporary lane closures: Main Street South, between Station and South of King (at cemetery slope) – West side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place.

*** Please note that in the next few weeks, depending on the weather, our Contractor will be coming back to site to complete outstanding work. We anticipate all work will be completed by the end of June.
+ Since the last update, the Contractor:
+ Continued work on the retaining wall adjacent to the cemetery:
+ Installed steel reinforcement: drilled-in dowels, vertical and horizontal bars
+ Formed and poured two 10m long tallest sections (#1 and #3)
+ Formed two 10m long sections (#2 and #5) – concrete pour is scheduled for Monday, March 16th
+ Once all sections (eight in total) of the concrete wall are poured, random stones will be installed inside the wall formed openings (see photo). The back side of the wall will be backfilled and a swale for drainage provided. Black aluminum railing will be installed on top of the wall, throughout the entire length.

PHASE 1:
As some of you may know, one of the newly installed streetlight poles on Queen Street East, East of the train tracks, was damaged. The damage to the pole and it’s hardware was as a result of a vehicle hit. Both our Contractor and the Region are aware of this accident and working to replace the pole and all related hardware. Until such time, both roadway and pedestrian luminaires will be off.
