In the last two weeks, the Contractor:
+ Completed placement of permanent line markings
+ Commenced re-grading boulevard gravel shoulders
In the next two weeks, the Contractor will:
+ Complete re-grading of boulevard gravel shoulders
+ Complete replacement of guide rails
+ Complete replacement and planting of new shrubs/trees

Update from the Region of Peel on Alton Village Streetscaping Phase 2 from Serguei Kabanov, Project Manager

The roadway remains open, with temporary lane closures: Main Street South, between King and Station – West side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place, Main Street South, between Station and McClellan – East side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place, Main Street South. Contractor will be working most Saturdays, 07:00AM – 4:00PM to expedite work.
• Please note that all fire trucks at Caledon Fire Station 301 will be brought back to the station on September 25/19
• Please note that temporary school crosswalk was relocated to Station and Main Intersection; crossing guard on duty
• Please note that construction activities are ongoing around the school frontage. All entrances are open during morning/afternoon rush hours.

In the last two weeks, the Contractor:
+ Completed road excavation and placement of granular material along the East side of Main Street South, between Beechgrove and South of McClellan
+ Completed road excavation and placement of granular material along the West side of Main Street South, between Beechgrove and South of McClellan
+ Completed installation of gateway islands – curbs, between Beechgrove and South of McClellan
+ Completed placement of base asphalt along the East and West sides of Main Street South, between Beechgrove and South of McClellan
+ Completed lot excavation, granular placement and concrete pad placement at Fire Hall parking lot
+ Completed watermain service relocation to Alton Public School
+ Completed granular placement along the West side of Main Street South, at cemetery
+ Completed installation of curb along the West side of Main Street South, at cemetery
+ Completed placement of base asphalt along the West side of Main Street South, at cemetery
+ Continued underground electrical works, throughout
+ Continued construction of storm sewer infiltration chambers along the East side of Main Street South, between Station and McClellan
+ Continued driveway reconstruction along the West side of Main Street South, between King and McClellan
In the next two weeks, the Contractor will:
+ Complete construction of storm sewer infiltration chambers along the East side of Main Street South, between Station and McClellan
+ Complete asphalt removal, curb and sidewalk along the East side of Main Street South, between Queen and Station (traffic will be shifted to the West side of Main, from Queen to Station on Thursday, Sep 19)
+ Complete road excavation and granular placement along the East side of Main Street South, between Station and McClellan
+ Complete chain link and decorative fences installations on Queen
+ Complete lattice fence installation at the gas station
+ Complete placement of base and top asphalt at Fire Hall parking lot
+ Continue underground electrical works, throughout
+ Commence construction of amenity/rest areas and armour stone retaining walls along Queen Street East, from Phase 1 to Main/Queen Intersection
+ Commence forming retaining wall at the cemetery
+ Commence installation of streetlight poles on Queen Street East
+ Commence storm sewer infiltration chambers along the East side of Main Street South, between Queen and Station

Important Construction Update from the Region of Peel

On Thursday, September 12, 2019, our Contractor will be placing base asphalt on Main Street South, between Beechgrove SD Rd and Alton Greenhouses. All operations will commence at 6PM and continue overnight into Friday day. The roadway will be open with one lane of traffic being maintained. Additional paving will be completed on Friday, on Main Street South, near the Cemetery wall. All paving will be completed prior to Tour de Headwaters bike race on Saturday.

Update on Phase 2 Alton Village Streetscaping

The roadway remains open, with temporary lane closures: Main Street South, between King and Station – West side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place, Main Street South, between Station and McClellan – East side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place, Main Street South, between Beechgrove and South of McClellan – West side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place; East side is currently on gravel. Contractor will be working most Saturdays, 07:00AM – 4:00PM to expedite work.
