Update from the Region of Peel on Alton Village Streetscaping Phase 1 from Serguei Kabanov, Project Manager

The roadway remains open, with temporary lane closures: Main Street South, between Queen and McClellan – East side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place.  Contractor will be working most Saturdays, 07:00AM – 4:00PM to expedite work.
 
  • Please note that all fire trucks at Caledon Fire Station 301 are back at the station
  • Please note that temporary school crosswalk was relocated to Station and Main Intersection; crossing guard on duty
  • Please note that construction activities are ongoing around the school frontage.  All entrances are open during morning/afternoon rush hours.
 
In the last two weeks, the Contractor:
+ Completed construction of storm sewer infiltration chambers along the East side of Main Street South, between Station and McClellan
+ Completed asphalt removal, curb and sidewalk along the East side of Main Street South, between Queen and Station
+ Completed road excavation and granular placement along the East side of Main Street South, between Station and McClellan
+ Completed placement of base and top asphalt at Fire Hall parking lot
+ Continued underground electrical works, throughout
+ Continued driveway reconstruction along the West side of Main Street South, between King and McClellan
+ Commenced installation of lattice fence installation at the gas station
+ Commenced installation of chain link and decorative fences installations on Queen
+ Commenced installation of decorative streetlight poles and luminaires on Queen and Main
+ Commenced installation of storm sewer along the East side of Main Street South, between Queen and Station
+ Commenced construction of amenity/rest areas and armour stone retaining walls along Queen Street East, from Phase 1 to Main/Queen Intersection
 
In the next two weeks, the Contractor will:
+ Complete installation of storm sewer along the East side of Main Street South, between Queen and Edmund
+ Complete construction of amenity/rest areas and armour stone retaining walls along Queen Street East, from Phase 1 to Main/Queen Intersection
+ Complete installation of lattice fence installation at the gas station
+ Complete installation of chain link and decorative fences installations on Queen
+ Complete placement of concrete curbs along the East side of Main Street South, between North of Station and McClellan
+ Continue underground electrical works, throughout
+ Commence placement of sidewalks along the East and West sides of Main Street South, between Station and McClellan
+ Commence forming retaining wall at the cemetery
+ Commence installation of storm sewer along the East side of Main Street South, between Edmund and Station
+ Commence road excavation and granular placement along the East side of Main Street South, between Queen and Edmund
