Update from the Region of Peel on Alton Village Streetscaping Phase 2 from Serguei Kabanov, Project Manager

​The roadway remains open, with temporary lane closures: Main Street South, between Queen and Station – West side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place, and Main Street South, between McClellan and 360m South – West side of the roadway remains temporary closed – signals in place.  McClellan Road, from Main to Agnes continues to be closed during the day – detour in place.  Contractor will be working most Saturdays, 07:00AM – 4:00PM.
 
In the last two weeks, the Contractor:
  • Completed installation of storm sewer on McClellan, between Main and Agnes
  • Completed road excavation and placement of granular material on McClellan, between Main and Agnes
  • Completed placement of concrete curbs on McClellan, between Main and Agnes
  • Completed installation of underground streetlighting conduits and cables on McClellan, between Main and Agnes
  • Completed road excavation and placement of granular material along the East side of Main Street South, between McClellan and 260m to South
  • Completed placement of base asphalt along the East side of Main Street South, between Queen and North of Station
  • Completed placement of top asphalt on Queen Street East/West/Intersection from train tracks to Main/Queen Intersection
  • Completed placement of concrete sidewalks along the East side of Main Street South, between Main/Queen Intersection and North of Station
  • Completed placement of concrete sidewalks along the West side of Main Street South, between McClellan and the Cemetery
  • Completed pouring concrete footing, the base and the column for the gateway monument on Main Street at Northerly island
  • Completed sealing all pattern colour concrete splash pads on Queen Street, between train tracks and Main/Queen Intersection
  • Completed placement of top asphalt for driveways on Queen Street, between train tracks and Main/Queen Intersection
  • Commenced installation of storm sewer along the West side of Main Street South, between McClellan and 260m to South
  • Commenced road excavation and placement of granular material along the West side of Main Street South, between McClellan and 260m to South
  • Commenced placement of permeable pavers at lay-bys on Main Street, between Station and Main/Queen Intersection
 
In the next two weeks, the Contractor:
  • Complete storm sewer installation along the West side of Main Street South, between McClellan and 260m to South
  • Complete road excavation and placement of granular material along the West side of Main Street South, between McClellan and 260m to South
  • Complete placement of concrete curbs along the East and West sides of Main Street South, between McClellan and 260m to South
  • Complete placement of base asphalt on Main Street South, between McClellan and 260m to South
  • Complete placement of base asphalt on McClellan, between Main and Agnes
  • Complete installation of streetlighting poles on McClellan, between Main and Agnes
  • Complete placement of concrete sidewalks along the West side of Main Street South, between the Cemetery and King Street
  • Complete installation of armour stone at Northerly gateway island
  • Complete installation of permeable pavers at all lay-bys, throughout
  • Complete installation of street furniture and waste bins at amenity areas, throughout
  • Complete installation of guide rail at N/E corner of Main/Queen Intersection
  • Continue work on gateway monument and armour stone at Southerly gateway island
  • Commence forming retaining wall at the cemetery
